Shane Mauss grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. He decided that he wanted to become a stand-up comic and knew that he'd have to relocate. "Go west young man!" he heard people tell him. Unfortunately, due to his dyslexia and poor sense of direction, he ended up in Boston. Making the best of things, he started hitting the local open mic scene. It was a bit rough in the beginning, the only famous people that anyone seemed to know that came from Wisconsin were Jeffrey Dahmer, and Ed Gein. But Shane was sure that with hard work and determination, he could join that prestigious list.
The Boston crowds took a liking to him and his unique sense of humor right away and within a few months, he was a regular performer at every club in town: The Comedy Connection, The Comedy Studio, Dick Doherty's, and Nick's Comedy Stop just to name a few. He even managed to win and place in a few contest alond the way.
In less than a year Shane had graduated to paid opener and host spots. He's appeared at colleges, resorts, bars, and clubs throughout New England. Whether he's talking about the culture shock of his move to the east coast, his confusion of language, or his less than stellar prowess as a lover, audiences all seem to agree on one thing...It's funny!
